Fort Snelling Memorial Day cemetery flowers [FULL]
Family of those who have served visit Fort Snelling National Cemetery to lay flowers and American flags on the graves of loved ones who served in the U.S. military as part of a yearly Memorial Day tradition. In addition to donating 26,000 flags to the nonprofit Flags for Fort Snelling, Team Depot volunteers spent more than 250 hours prepping and weatherizing the flags ahead of planting this weekend.
62nd Art of Possibilities show and sale
This week artists of varying abilities from around the world will be sharing their art as part of the 62nd annual Art of Possibilities Art Show at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Golden Valley, with 100% of the proceeds go to the artists. Community leaders, activists, residents and family of George Floyd gathered at 38th and Chicago in Minneapolis Friday afternoon to mark a moment of silence for George Floyd. He died in a police incident on Memorial Day in 2020, and former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder in his death.
