Pennies could rise in value after United States Mint, a department of the United States Treasury, announced plans to stop producing the coin.

Fort Snelling Memorial Day cemetery flowers [FULL]

Family of those who have served visit Fort Snelling National Cemetery to lay flowers and American flags on the graves of loved ones who served in the U.S. military as part of a yearly Memorial Day tradition. In addition to donating 26,000 flags to the nonprofit Flags for Fort Snelling, Team Depot volunteers spent more than 250 hours prepping and weatherizing the flags ahead of planting this weekend.

62nd Art of Possibilities show and sale

This week artists of varying abilities from around the world will be sharing their art as part of the 62nd annual Art of Possibilities Art Show at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Golden Valley, with 100% of the proceeds go to the artists. The opening reception on May 28 is open to the public and will include live music, artists demonstrating how they create their pieces and light snacks. ‘612: Darkness in the Land of Nice’ premieres

This Sunday marks five years since George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin. Academy Award-nominated producer David M. Massey and North Minneapolis writer-director Diem Van Groth have created “612: Darkness in the Land of Nice” to tell the story of how young people in Minnesota ignited the largest single-issue protest in modern history.
